Our Philosophy

We believe enduring value is created through patience, disciplined decision-making and genuine alignment. Kajer Capital invests with a long-term perspective, seeking opportunities grounded in durable fundamentals, transparent structures and partnerships with operators committed to their markets.

Our focus on Colorado and the Mountain West is deliberate: more than two decades of operating, lending and investing in the region informs how we evaluate opportunities, manage risk and choose our partners.

Jesse Kajer

Principal & Founder

Jesse Kajer has built his career investing in the place he cares about most: Colorado.

Raised in Ridgway and now raising his own family in Golden, he's spent more than two decades working across banking, capital markets, real estate lending and principal investment throughout the Mountain West.

He started in luxury real estate sales, contributing to nearly $100 million in gross residential volume and gaining a ground-level view of how real estate markets actually work. From there he built a foundation in credit analysis, underwriting, capital structure and risk management through roles in institutional finance and commercial banking.

In 2016, Jesse co-founded a private lending and investment management platform, helping scale it into one of Colorado and Utah's leading private lenders. As partner and Chief Operating Officer, he was involved in capital formation, underwriting, portfolio management, investor operations and the resolution of distressed assets through multiple market cycles — work that helped the platform raise more than $300 million in fund equity and deploy capital across hundreds of real estate loans. Across his career, Jesse has been involved in deploying more than $1.95 billion of debt capital across real estate transactions and placing approximately $45 million of equity into direct commercial real estate investments.

Jesse holds a finance degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and an international MBA from the University of Denver's Daniels College of Business, and has served in leadership roles with the Urban Land Institute, Downtown Denver Partnership and Historic Denver.

Today, Jesse is focused on building enduring, disciplined real estate investment platforms — Kajer Capital and Ironstrand Capital Partners — alongside experienced operators across the Mountain West. Outside of work, he's usually in Colorado's mountains: mountain biking, skiing, mountaineering and hiking with his family.

Why the Mountain West

The Mountain West combines long-term population growth, entrepreneurial communities and enduring demand for well-located real estate. Colorado is our home market and the center of our network, giving us a grounded understanding of the region’s opportunities, risks and relationships.

We believe local knowledge and long-term presence create a meaningful advantage that anchors our approach without limiting our ability to pursue compelling opportunities in other markets.
